JIM SCOTT AND ASSOCIATES

    Those of you who don't know me, I am Laura's husband and I am now the current "ASSOCIATE" of Jim Scott & Associates. 

    After over 30 years of working mostly behind the scenes,  I will now join Laura on the front lines as a Licensed and Bonded tax preparer.  It's been a long road from starting at the coffee maker and getting Lunch, to delivering tax returns, then graduating to copy machine, answering phones, filing and even typing Tax Returns w/Carbon Paper in triplicate.  If this sounds familiar, it is pretty much the same road Laura has taken too.  I can't think of a better way to know the business inside and out. 

    Yes those were the days, the days I knew there had to be a better way.  My first attempt at automation was a programmable TI calculator.  After a lot of input and a few minutes to calculate it would spit out a tape of pertinent numbers to use to type in triplicate etc.  Then trying the "Service Bureau".  Sending input sheets by couriers, and finished products returned by couriers. Next was "Remote Data Entry".  We only had to have courier service to us.  You get the picture.  I have been here and seen it all.  From that to where we are today is simply amazing.

    It is very exciting to put all the new  technological advances to use and I am looking forward to using these to help us, get you, every deduction and tax benefit you are entitled to, to satisfy all of your TAX FILING REQUIREMENTS.
